Your Influence: Your Personal Calling is an Opportunity to Influence Others

Remember the story: God asked Moses to lay it his shepherd staff on ground. It became a snake! God asked Moses to pick up again by the tail. And as he did, it became a staff again. Moses staff not only symbolizes his identity (as a shepherd) and his income (source of livelihood), but it also represents his influence. As a shepherd, he uses his staff to pull and push sheeps from point A to point B. God is using Moses’ sheperding skills from moving herds of sheep to influnecing and moving God’s people out of Egypt onto the Promise Land.

God is doing the same thing with you my friend. He wants you to surrender to Him your identity, income and influence. And when you do, see what He can do with it. From staff to snake! He can bring it to life! But it if you try to take control of it again, it will be back the way it was, lifeless and insignificant.

As leaders, others entrust you with providing direction and empowering them to use their gifts and talents to serve God in a particular place and for a particular time.

• How has your role as a leader blessed and empowered others to serve God more fully?

• In Revelation 3: 8, God says, “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” Where have you experienced opportunities to serve match the very talents and gifts you have?

God bless you in your journey as a person who is called to serve and called to lead…OnPurpose!!

2 Timothy 2:15 ~ Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 

Philippians 4:8-9 ~ Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Do you know where you are right now?  You are where you think you are!  Success is INTENTIONAL – What are you aiming for? What are you hitting?  Just to be CLEAR, what you are hitting is really what you are aiming for…

Generally, people follow you when they can see what is next for them – In some cases YOU are the BRIDGE to their PURPOSE!

What makes you follow who you are following? (Church, Politically, Socially) What do you think you provide that encourages people to follow you?

Who are you listening to…What are you hearing?

Dear Lord, grow my love for you so I will trust in You when I can’t see the path ahead clearly. Dear Lord, help me not to say yes when no is the right answer. Dear Lord, never allow my plan to get ahead of — or in the place of — Your plan. Dear Lord, allow me to forgive easily, hold no grudges or bitterness, and live in and extend to others the grace You have provided to me. Dear Lord, provide me with courage and conviction to face my fears and critics and lead people to bigger realities of Your will than today. Dear Lord, grant me wisdom to make decisions big and small and conviction to follow You when it contradicts my desires or the demands of others. Dear Lord, help me guard my heart , overcome temptation, and keep my character and reputation above reproach. Dear Lord, give me patience with people, the pace of progress, and with things I can’t understand. Dear Lord, help me communicate with clarity, consistency, and competence. Dear Lord, help me to love people and use my influence for the good of others and Your glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
