Illusions…

Ecclesiastes 2:11 ~ Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.

ecc-2-11

Our only true eternal joy and happiness comes from and through Christ Himself. King Solomon, a man who seemingly had it all; riches, wisdom and power, realized as his life approached it’s end that it all was just for the present and as soon as attained, the bliss of it always  faded, that all that we strive for and push for in this life is only and but a fleeting accomplishment. Thus, once attained, it’s onto the next struggle. To say the very least, it keeps us busy. But I have found that many of us who have “it all” lack the one thing that’s the easiest to acquire; Christ as his own. Today I thank God for the past men of wisdom who left their insight for us. Although we should “go for it” in  this life with everything we have, for the saints, we know that our success was already won over 2000 years ago and it continues to live today… in our hearts.

Pray this with me: “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.” May I know that in light of eternity, the things of earth are truly meaningless. May I live with eternity in mind. In Jesus Name, Amen!
